The MSRP on a 2020 Mercedes-Benz SL Class starts at $91,000. The 362 to 449 horsepower engine only gets up to 28 miles per gallon on the highway and 20 miles per gallon in the city, which leads to expensive fuelling costs for the Mercedes-Benz SL Class. The high expense for owning this vehicle can be largely attributed to the steep depreciation. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will be approximately $121,109.  

BMW 7 Series

The MSRP for a BMW 7 Series starts at $86,450. The average cost for fueling a BMW 7 Series exceeds $2,000 annually. Although for the first three years of ownership, the manufacturers warranty cover routine maintenance and repairs, the annual cost for subsequent years averages nearly $6,000. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will be approximately $135,402.  

Mercedes-Benz G Class SUVs

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz G Class SUVs have a base MSRP of $130,900. With its 419 to 577 horsepower engine, it only gets up to 17 miles per gallon on the highway and 13 miles per gallon in the city. This leaves the owner with incredibly expensive fuelling costs. The Mercedes-Benz G Class SUVs are also known to have exponentially increasing maintenance expenses. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will likely exceed $148,400.  

Nissan GT-Rs

The base MSRP on a 2020 Nissan GT-R is $113,540. The 565 to 600 horsepower engine gets up to 22 miles per gallon on the highway and 16 miles per gallon in the city, which leads to incredibly high fuelling costs. This vehicle is also notorious for being one of the most expensive cars to insure, costing over $3,900 for most drivers. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will be approximately $128,095.  

Land Rover Range

Range Rovers are reliable and safe vehicles that also happen to be very expensive to own. The 2020 Land Rover Range has a base MSRP of $90,900. The 254 to 557 horsepower engine only gets up to 28 miles per gallon on the highway and 22 miles per gallon in the city, which leads to expensive fuelling costs for the Land Rover Range. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will be approximately $126,645.  

Porsche 911 Coupe GT3 RS

The MSRP on the Porsche 911 Coupe GT3 RS starts at $187,500. The 520 horsepower engine only gets up to 19 miles per gallon on the highway and 15 miles per gallon in the city, which leads to expensive fuelling costs. While there will be minimal expenses related to repair costs, the expense from depreciation is exorbitant. The total cost of ownership for a period of five years will be approximately $192,205.  

1963 Ferrari 250 GTO

There were 36 of these cars manufactured between 1962 and 1963. In 2018, one of the 36 1963 Ferrari 250 GTO was purchased for the record-breaking price of $70 million. It remains a fully functional, road-legal vehicle with a top speed of 174 miles per hour. It also can go from zero-60 in 6.1 seconds. This vehicle is currently listed as the most expensive car in world.
